Lucky winning kid’s bedroom revealed

Plan and Prepare

Before diving into the decorating process, it’s essential to plan ahead. Sit down with your child and discuss their preferences. Take note of their favourite colours - soft pastels or rainbow brights? Decide on your budget, make a list of essential items, and start your Amazon Yes Day wishlist!

Choose the Perfect Bedding

The bed is the focal point of any bedroom, so let’s start there. Indra loves having friends to stay with, so we chose a trundle bed - king single, so Mum and Dad can fit in for bedtime stories! For the bedding, we embraced Indra’s love of rainbows with a reversible doona cover set and loads of feature pillows.

Add Wall Decals

Wall decals are a fantastic way to add a pop of magic to the room without the permanence of paint. Decals are perfect for renters and indecisive kids alike! You can create a magical scene on one wall with a large mural or sprinkle smaller decals throughout the room. The options are endless and very easy to change.

Magical Lighting

To create a twinkling and atmospheric wonderland, opt for multiple layers of lighting. On the ceiling choose a smart light that is easy to dim using Amazon’s Alexa (that way you never have to get out of bed) Then around the room, choose soft night lights and layers of fairy lights. For the more adventurous, choose a fun neon light - Indra’s room features a mini rainbow - the options are endless!

Soft and Cozy Rugs

A new rug can totally change the look and feel of a room. We love a super plush, high-pile rug for a bedroom. Cosy upon cosy!

Storage Solutions

Keep the room organised with fun storage solutions. Look for colourful bins and baskets, or add simple floating shelves. Kid’s rooms need tonnes of storage for toys, books, and other essentials while maintaining the room’s aesthetic.
